New Women’s Boutique aimed for College Students opens in Downtown Atchison

In May of 2023, a new women’s fashion boutique called Twill Trade opened in downtown Atchison on Commercial Street. Elizabeth Knispel, the owner of the business, has now opened multiple stores in Kansas with its Atchison location being her third.

The store caters its merchandise to the college-age audience in the area. Students are given an automatic nine percent off their purchase when they show their ID at the counter.

The store brings in new products every week to keep inventory up and trendy. Its current display of merchandise includes clothes picture perfect for fall, a multitude of raven-red colored sweaters and shirts, and many other products reflecting the latest trends.

“I’ve always worked in merchandise and fashion, and I thought, you know, I’ve done this for so many years for other people, might as well do it for myself,” said Knispel

To make sure it stays up-to-date with the latest trends, the business receives weekly product.

“For the affordable pricing, the clothes are great quality and the customer service was warm and welcoming” said senior Catherine Steger.

On top of the pre-established student discount, everything store wide is 18 percent off every Thursday for BC students as well.
